The LBL was started as a summer league and touted by the former owner
as the "ABA's first and ONLY official farm league", the LBL was designed
to search for talent and to expose that talent to ABA coaches in the
area.
"The
basic idea behind the league will remain the same" said new CEO Cliff
Todd, "but there will be a number of changes and improvements. Number
one is to change it from simply playing basketball games to being a
training and professional development league. It will be a viable
league for those who use it."
The LBL consists of six teams,
with much to be offered to the players. "There is not another league
like this in existence", Todd said. "and we intend on the LBL being an
exciting, viable entity."
Players in the Louisville Basketball
League (LBL) will have the chance to learn, show their "stuff" and
possibly earn contracts with some of the countries best teams.
